Ceiling laminate coming apart under the fabric

My wife was cleaning the upper cabinet in the back of the front room when she notice the ceiling fabric sagging down. When you push on it there is no backing to the laminate was gone. This runs about 12" long and 2" wide. I pulled down the light fixture next to the area. When I felt it there was no water leak an the laminate felt very brittle .

Although not to your point, I'm surprised to learn that you have ceiling fabric and we don't. I'm jealous.

No ceiling fabric on our coach. But I did have about a foot or so of the paneling above the kitchen table bulge down and had to repair a pulled away area in our living room and one bedroom corner. I used some wood glue and a brad nailer to put them back in place.
