I have 3 orange cables in the compartment above the media player. I would assume these are for satellite does anyone know what each cable does. Also the bedroom tv and the basement tv will pick up digital channel on the antana but the main tv does not pick them up ....any ideas???

Yes the orange cables are for satellite. On the roof there is a three or four inch round plate. Unscrew it and you'll find the other end, plus a control cable taped to them.

Re not getting TV in the living room, go to the bedroom TV and above it, or in one of the cabinets adjacent to the TV, you'll find an attenna booster. If you want OTA (Over The Air) TV, push the small button in and a green light will illuminate. If you want to watch cable, push the button in again until the green light turns off.

It also might be worth it to check the coax connectors to ensure they are seated properly.

Also check and see what the tv input is set at. On our Toshiba, we have 4 other inputs we can have the tv set at beside the antenna/cable input.

The one with no tape is from the utility bay, the one with one tape is from the roof rough-in, the one with 2 tapes is a jumper to the bedroom TV.

On our 36RL (which I believe is set up for Winegard and Shaw) there are 4 coax connectors on the roof (and I assume the Winegard cable underneath), two orange cables go to the entertainment area and two go to the bedroom (that's where the other end of the Winegard cable is) just in case you want two Shaw receivers.

If you need info. on setting up a Shaw dish on a tripod, I did a work around to get 2 coax lines from the dock area to the entertainment area (Shaw requires two coax inputs from the LNB if you have a PVR).

I had this same issue with my main living room tv. It should be on a pivot mount just move the cable either up or down on the back of the tv for local antenna or cable to watch tv. This is what worked with mine. the actual screw in connections on back of tv

Did you set the TV to antenna via the menu selection?

I only have 2 connections on the Roof and no mounting plate.
The 3 orange cables above the TV all have 1 piece of tape wrapped around them. Sure would be nice if they labled things for us.

I have 3 orange cables coming in above the TV. Two go to the roof where I have two plates and two connectors, the other goes to the water/sewer closet satellite connection. Mine had tape on them, one had one piece of tape, the second had two and the third three. Now in my closet I have two satellite connections but not sure where the second one goes. I use satellite one in the closet to connect my Dish to.
