Black/Grey valve cord length

The repair place says my cords for the black and grey tanks are 48" but only 72" are available. If they put in the 72" will it affect performance of the opening/closing of the valves? I have researched and it doesn't seem difficult to cut the cords down to size...Am I missing something?

Yes it's possible to shorten them as needed.
Hopefully this is you asking for your own information & not for the shop doing the work! If they don't/didn't know they could be shortened I'd have concern with the abilities of that shop to do anything.

Yes, mostly my inquiry, but it is because I have not been able to get a solid answer from any entity I call, Redwood, Trekwood parts, my dealer. I found the parts and am purchasing them and bringing to the repair place, but I just don't want more issues with too long of cord as well. If they don't secure them appropriately it is just going to tighten and kink up. Thank you for your help and response. I do NOT have faith in any repair shop at this point.

Fortunately I was ready, willing & able with plenty of tools to do 99.9% of the repairs to my RW myself, unfortunately now I don't think I could even if I wanted to.
Good luck with the repairs!
