Best route from Indianapolis IN to Shipshawana IN

The first Redwood rally we attended was at Shipshawana back in 2017. The route we took in 2017 from Indianapolis was I69 to Angola then then Hwy 20 from Angola to Shipshawana. In 2017 I69 had a lot of construction and had some of the worst bridge transitions we had ever encountered. I would like input from the community as to the best route to take from Indianapolis to Shipshawana for the 2021 so that we can make reservations.

The only other major route going north out of Indy would be US 31. They have re built it and put bypasses around Kokomo and the last few miles before you get to South Bend. You would then get on 20 and go east. Once you get north of 465 you only see four or five lights before you get to South Bend. 20 is four lanes going east for about 20 miles and then it reduces to 2 lanes. You should be able to get to South Bend from Indy in roughly 2 hours.

That's the route we took last fall going south out of Shipshewana not bad and probably more direct than taking I69 and them going back west to hit Shipshe.
