Anyone experienced bathroom sink clog? Our 2013 unit is one year old, sink is normally used, but tonight sink plugged up. Removed elbow, all clean, replaced it and tried again, water is very slow to drain. Any suggestions? Any ideas besides climbing up on roof, removing cap on vent tube and use "snake" on vent pipe. Past one year inspection, fail three days latter with toilet clean water overflow, and now this. Never a dull moment. Buy the way, we use water softener and still have problems. Anyone out there with similar problem? Thank you for all of the help.

Our bedroom sink sometimes slows to a trickle while draining too. When this happens, I know what has likely caused it - my wife's hair getting caught under the stopper - on the cross filter just under the stopper.

When this happens, I take something pointed and gently pull out the hair that's wrapped around the cross filter.
May be worth taking a look with a flashlight.

X2 Vic's (Adamsvr's) comments. We have the same problem at times.

Toilet foot pedal broke and was not shutting water off. Caused flood in bathroom, storage and cover on holding tanks. Replaced toilet with ceramic one, now happy!

It doesn't necessarily have to be long hair. Short hair will clog it up also. While you had the p trap off, did you pour some water down the pipe and see if the stoppage was above or below the trap.

Nothing in trap, nothing as far as I can reach inside pipe. But, bottle of peroxide and couple of gallons of water did the trick. Some black matter, like film floated up, something I never saw before, but it worked. Peroxide good to keep around.

Have you been using the bathroom sink as a spittoon?

I know sometimes with everything that goes down the drain along with the soap will make kind of a black scum that needs to be cleaned out every once in a while.
