Back up light(s)

If I'm not mistaken it looks like my new 39MB has back up lights installed however happened to notice this evening that they're not working. I realize that they wouldn't be that helpful anyway but was wondering if anyone else can advise if theirs works. If so, wonder if it has something to do with my 12v power plug to truck?

I'm researching the same issue. I believe mine to be in the truck wiring. Mine work on the bumper but not in the bed connector. You can see if your trailer back lights work pretty easily. Use the 7 pin plug on the Redwood and use two alligator clips to jump from 12 volt pin to reverse light pin. I don't remember which one on the plug is reverse right now though.

If memory serves me it will be the center pin on your plug, it's more than likely not connected on truck end.

Btw, on mine I replaced all 4 lights on the rear with stop/brake led lights as I don't have any plans to be backing in after dark & the leds are much more visible.

Did you replace the bulb with a LED or did you replace the whole fixture?

Problem solved........ I Plugged into the stock 7pin socket @my truck's bumper & lights work now so the issue is at my in bed socket wired in for my last 5er (Cardinal) by my dealer. The Cardinal didn't have back up lights so I'm thinking that the tech just didn't bother to splice into that wire.

Rosey, that is what I believe is my problem. I'm going to purchase one of the no splice Curt plugs for my truck and hope that is all I need to do. Rob, I have a write-up on this forum somewhere for replacing the lights with LED fixtures. I got them from E-Trailer, really easy upgrade and way brighter than the stock ones.

I like the backup lights, not that I need them as we also normally try to arrive during the daylight but when I get to some CGs that we have to back into the site, some idiots will pull right up behind you when you are trying to back in, my backup lights let them know I am getting ready to back over them

There have been cases due to accidents on the highway or unforeseen travel delays that have occasionally caused up to arrive close to dark, they are nice for those times too.

Rob, replaced the fixtures bought from M4 products. They also have the clear fixtures for your back ups if want to keep them.

There are wifi cameras, but I don't think Garmin has them - if its wireless its probably like my Garmin GC20 digital.
