Adding the Carefree direct response kit after

Has anyone added the Carefree Direct Response wind kit themselves? If so , what type of job was it?? I like the idea of the kit only costing $100.00 and piece of mind when the awning is out and it starts to get windy... But I don't like that the dealer said they never added one , and can't give me a cost to install till they get into it,....

It's on my list. I think the detailed instructions are on their website.

Hmmm,
interested in this too...
we have the Carefree ck16arjv (which I think is an Eclipse from checking with Carefree and it too can have wireless remote AND wind thingy )
Although some rv buds say their 2009/10 versions are either too sensitive or not sensitive enough so they turn it off, maybe the newer versions work better ?

pics are from carefree on how to tell which awning you might have if you don't have docs...

RWs, as far as all I've seen, all have the Carefree Travelr' awnings.

Also I've talked to several rvers that have the wind sensors on their awnings & so far it's been unanimous that they don't like them as all are too sensitive or not enough. Looked at several new motor homes that didn't offer it or adviced against them. Sure wouldn't want my coach sitting at a dealer cause awning wasn't automatic.
