Has anybody had any issues with registering their 5th wheel with the your state because of length? A CDL licensed friend of mine is saying I could have problems with registering my 38GK when we move to Florida next year, as Florida has a max length of 40 feet while the 38GK just comes in at under 42 feet. Or is this length issue just for commercial vehicles?

I think it might be just Commericals. Our RL is registered in FL, brochure says 38' 11", but actual length from tip to tail is 40' 2", not including the ladder.

The maximum length of a commercial trailer CDL is 53'. All States will have different maximum lengths of the combination of both the tractor (truck) and trailer, commercial. Some States allow double trailers others restrict them.<div id="LCS_C4CFC0DE_134F_4466_B2A2_FF7C59A8BFAD_commu nicati&#111;nDiv">

I registered my 5th wheel coach in Florida. The only question asked of me was, 'are you 35 feet'. There is a certain price for being under 35' and another price for being longer than 35'. I was asked my actual length so they could place it on the registration.

They needed my drivers license. They also, needed my existing Title to make it a Florida Title. They also, needed an address of where mail will go within that County. I now have a Florida registration on my coach.
