When I contacted Redwood shortly after my purchase they said that they were not aware of problems with the showers leaking. I told them that everyone on the forum seems to think that it is standard procedure to have a shower that leaks. I was told that originally they had issues with the corner shower but the manufacturer came in and demonstrated how to install and they resolved that issue.
*
I sure wish Redwood marketing and engineering would monitor their owner's forum to get some of this feedback.* It would help them to become aware of*these relatively minor issues so they could be corrected and make their customers even happier.*
Could have save a lot of folks, a hole lot of trouble. More concerned about getting units out of production and being seen on the road.

This is what I’m going to be doing tomorrow is sealing up the shower again. We disturbed the silicone clean the glass all the time. Has anyone noticed that has a leaking shower where the location of the rubber window seal is on your door and side glass? I noticed the window sticker was upside down and it got me looking. My Rubber seal seam is on the bottom and it has a 1/16" to 1/8” gap between to 2 ends. So this is what Im thinking. Water hits the glass and gravity takes over, water runs down to the bottom of the glass and follows the rubber seal to the seam in the seal which just so happens to be at the bottom of the glass. It then goes down in the split of the seal and runs along the bottom of the glass and on top of the inside of the frame to the next area to have a seam which is the frame edges. And then leaks out onto the sides of the shower base or through the screw holes that hold the frame to the base and then out onto the floor.
When I reseal the outside only bottoms of the frame I will add alittle silicone to both sides of the rubber holding in the glass this time and see if this helps any.
By sealing the out side only it gives the water a place to go and thats back inside of the shower where it is supposed to be. Any body else thought about that or am I just over thinking it?

Only time my shower leaks is when you spray directly onto the shower doors and the water runs out over the door tracks.

Well today was the day for fixing the shower. I wanted to find out why its leaking. So I pulled the glass and frame of the base and to my surprise very little to no silco</span>ne to seal the frame to the base to stop it from leaking out the bottom. So I cleaned off what little was their, most of which I put there from the get go trying to seal it and then laid down a nice heavy bead about 5/8” high and reset the frame and glass back down on the base and checked with a light to make sure it was sealed completely this time. Time will tell the next time we take a shower. I also had to tighten up the bonnet nut on the hot water valve to the washing machine and I also tightened up the nut on the kitchen sink handle. I guess I had a little tinkeritis today.</span>

Whats really funny is that I own a glass company and the first thing I noticed was the doors were backwards. They don't leak between the doors because they used sweeps on the edges of the glass to prevent that from happening. But make no mistake they are backward. there no fix at this time from they way they were ordered.
My shower leaked the first shower that I took. Being this is what I did for a living I fixed it once and for all and now after a dozens of showers it does not leak at all anymore. There is some residual water that shows up on the floor every once and a while from a number of silly things but it doesn't leak anymore.

Old thread, but that's been an issue from day one with ours...
As soon as we walked in on delivery day we noticed the 'smooth' side of the shower was outside and the patterned part was inside but not on all three panels ...

Also, the overlaps were what seemed to be backwards

on our 38gk, we had a 2 inch wide stream of water running from under the pan to under the bedroom carpet - yikes !

So towel on the floor to take a shower,
until we brought it back to the dealer.

Still the triple shower panels are not 'right' and come out of the tracks any time we move it...
the dealers fix was to put another latch on the other end of the shower...

It's nice to know that someone who has experience with glass agrees with me that the doors are backwards. I brought this up to a tech right after my purchase but I notice they are still installing the same way. I know the correct doors are available because I have seen other manufacturers using the same shower and they have doors that face the right direction. Why you would put door on the shower with the door cracks facing the water flow is beyond me.

On mine the smooth side faces in the shower the way it is suppose to. If the shower head was on the wall by the seat the doors would be in the right direction.

I know this is an old thread but I contacted the company that made our shower doors and enclosures. Traco at Shower Enclosures of America 909 563 1700 extension 3110 informed me of the story of what happened to all of our three door shower enclosures.

Seems that when they originally ordered these door set ups the shower head was on the left not the right. So when Redwood engineers decided to move the shower head to the right. No one at RW ever told the shower door company of the change so all the orders were still filled as if it was for a left hand shower head.

There is no way to reconfigure the shower doors so they redesigned the sweeps thicker so as to prevent the water from going between the doors and out on the floor.

I touched this topic because some of us are new to our slightly used Redwoods and have the same questions as all of you had a few years back. Hope this helps the number above is the most recent number and SEA is willing to still help with this problem even after it is a few years old. I shining light of hope and answers for us new owners of the older but great rigs.

I know its only part of the story, but that just isn't Engineering - that is more like reactive design.

We have the same big shower as the GK & surprisingly after 4 1/2 years fulltime we don't get water out on the floor from the backwards doors, sure as hell wouldn't spend $400 to change them.

I was shocked back in 2013 when I realized Redwood had installed the wrong doors, I even complained to Redwood and of course they acted like I was just complaining for no reason! Our door glass is the smooth glass so we resolved any issues by installing a shower curtain. Now we don't hAve to worry about cleaning the waterspots off of the glass. Works great and much cheaper than $400! I tried to get Redwood to replace the doors with the correct ones but we all know how that turned out. It all comes down to those that build never actually use the product!
