2 ac units

I have purchased a 2012 Redwood RV. It has 2 thermostats and I'm trying to figure out how to turn on the one in the living room and turn off the one in the bedroom to save electricity. If I turn off the one in the bedroom, both ac's go off. Anyone have the same problem?

The air conditioners work independently of each other but they both use the same ducts. They should kick on and off based on the setting for that thermostat. Turn the thermostat in the bedroom to off and then adjust your living room thermostat to the temp you want and then sit back and see if the air comes on. Sometimes it's difficult to tell which unit is running from inside the Redwood. I thought only one of mine was working but when I climbed up on top they were both on. I have never experienced what you are experiencing but I know that it gets confusing with 2 units using the same ducting.

I did what your trying to do to save Elec and what we found was that when we ran one unit it ran much more to cool off the RW than if we left both on. there was not much of a difference in usage with one or two.

Forget saving electricity let both of those coolers run. I did just put a reflective tint on the windows that keeps out 70 to 80 % of the suns rays and can tell you the chill factor is great. 95 deg. out and the rv is ice cold.

I just put reflective tint on my windows that keeps 70 to 80% of the suns rays out. The difference is large, 95 deg. out and I have a chill factor going on in the rv. You can hear the different airs coming on and going off in the heat of the day.

I just got back from camping and a few days ago, and it was fairly warm. They only had 30 amp, so I could only use one AC. That one AC was working pretty hard to try and cool the camper, and it wasn't doing a good job. I will be sure to have 50amp service for the next camping trip if it is really hot.

One unit will work fine until you hit 70 to 75 degrees and then it will not be able to cool a trailer this size down. If I am In a park with 30 amp and the temp gets above that I use the generator to run the 2nd air. When it gets 110 plus I wish I had a third unit.
