Thanks Vaughan. I'm on it. I'm awaiting approval for the funding from to buy the washer & dryer. Approval should come soon after we do some minor negotiating! :-)

Has anyone had any luck with the new splendid 7100xc ventless combo
Reading a bunch of reviews on it the people love them and sounds like the wrinkles while drying are not as bad as they used to be
I would rather not cut a hole in the side of the trailer
Any help would be appreciated

You will have more of a problem with all the moisture/humidity that you will be putting into the trailer than cutting that vent hole.

We had a vented combo bought new in late 2010 & if that was less wrinkles then I would hate to have seen the wrinkles before. Also plan on 2+ hours per load (small load) on the combo.

I 2nd this completely. It's nowhere near as fast or as wrinkle free as a residential washer and dryer. But the plus is I never have to use "shared" laundry facilities...

The above was one of the reasons I decide to look "outside the box" when adding the W/D. The setup we finally wound up with works very well. The washer is a top loader with an agitator and separate fabric softener dispense. Works like a champ. Quiet , does at least as good a job as the house unit and takes about 30 ,minutes for a load. The dryer is very efficient for a 120 volt unit and also almost silent. The cats will actually go into the litter box under the dryer while it is running. A heavy load of jeans and such takes about an hour and a half but that is part of the 120 volt thing. The plus side is that we have no more wrinkles than the house unit.

The biggest thing was that the whole setup, washer and dryer, was less than $900 total.

Cut the hole

Well the jury's in
We purchased the new splendid 7100xc ventless washer dryer combo just over 1 month ago The DW now has it down to an art, no wrinkled clothes and does an excellent job. Little on long side at about 21/2 hours per load but beats her having to entertain all the different folks in the laundry mat. Told her it was the best xmas present I ever gave her. Doctor said I should be able to see in a couple more weeks

Vaughn...what combo did you go with, or did I miss it somewhere?

We went to the Sears Outlet in Tampa and bought our Washer Dryer, 24" Maytag Front Load Washer and 24" Sears Kenmore 120 Volt Dryer for under $800 a couple of years ago, they have been cross country a few times in our previous 5th Wheel, then moved to out Redwood, no issues at all.
The Washer takes about 50 minutes and the Dryer takes about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours depending on what the load is.
Since we have a stackable situation, we stayed with the front load Washer, Top Loaders in a stackable situation can be a PITA.
If the Washer / Dryer is a side by side mount, the top load washers work good too.
The only other issue with a top load washer is it takes more water for each cycle.

I used compact portable units that are intended for small apartments.
The washer is made by Danby, the dryer is a Sonya. They come out of Japan
Got both of them through Amazon with extended warranties. Dryer should be around $350-375 and the Washer about $450. Have had them a year now and they're working great. Have traveled probably 6-7000 miles.

I'm not near my PC right now so can't send pictures but will post pics on Friday

Only "creative" part is the dryer vent. It is a non-standard size and took me a while to figure a way to do it. If you go this route, email me and I'll lead you through it.

The other reason I bought from Sears, if I have trouble anywhere in the US, there is Sears Service and Parts and they will work on it in a RV

I really think piperguy has the right idea. I wasted a lot of money when I bought my setup.

Here are the pictures of the units I used. As I mentioned before, the Washer is a Danby top loader and the Dryer is made by Sonya. The dryer is available in 2 sizes, this is the bigger of the two and makes it by about 1".

I made a box for it to sit on to gain storage space and room for the cat litter box.

HTH, email me if any questions. Dryer weighs 43 lbs and Washer weighs about 80 lbs.

Vaughn...very nice. It appears you get a lot more for your money going this route.
