In my opinion, this just adds value to the RW line! :-) Cool! Thanks for sharing!

Not any info on their website,
Wonder what the diff is ?
is it above or below the redwood ?

Wonder if it is a repositioning of the blackwood ?

And here's an opportunity for us all:

I'm guessing it's positioned directly below the Redwood going after the Montana and similarly priced market.

According to the press release:

"According to Statistical Surveys, Topeka, Ind.-based Redwood has dominated the $75,000 to $100,000 price segment over the past three years with 43 percent of the market.
Sequoia will continue the luxury theme at a more affordable price point, Redwood said."

We saw one on the factory tour in June. It was outside the factory in back and we were asked not to take any photos of it or the Redwood prototype that was beside it. We did not see the inside only the outside, but they said dealers were aware it was coming even then.

last year at the rally, it was mentioned as a possibility. They said they wanted to produce something that would compete toe to toe with the others in the 40-60k price range

We were on the tour with John/Eileen and if it's the one that I'm thinking of they used a cable system for the bedroom slideout instead of the schwintek. We couldn't see the inside. I've noticed that cable slide on other brands, wondering which is best?

Rick, I was thinking when I saw the cable on the slide that I was glad I didn't have that model if they change. I'm not an engineer, but it sure didn't look sturdy to me.

I thought the same thing but I'm not an engineer either so I can't say for sure that is not as good or better than our schwintek. I guess once they get info out we'll know more about it.

Doesn't DRV or some other bigger name use something similar instead of the Schwintek system? I seem to recall seeing something totally different from our setup for the bedroom slide of a big name recently.

Most of the Keystone products use the cable system.

When we were looking at 5'ers, before we discovered Redwood we looked at Open Range, they had the cable slides. I wasn't impressed.

Actually one of the other workcampers where we're at now has an Open Range and he told me he has had issues with the cable system, they have given him problems sticking, get out of sync, etc.

We worked camped with someone who had a 1 year old SOB that had a slide failure due to issues with cable and pulley system. It was repaired on site, but it proved to be quite a challenge to align each side of the slide with the cable systems.

That being said, one of my Schwintek motors froze and I was told by the dealer that is was a real bear to get out because the slide would not move in or out, even without power. They replaced both motors and everything has been working fine. Earlier Schwintek motors had problems with the set screw cracking or breaking through the motor housing primarily due to the manufacture over torquing the set screw during installation.
