Jack Pads

I am looking for a set of jack pads to use on soft / uneven ground.

I’m thinking the leveling jacks on my near 8 ton coach will simply sink given time and rain. I would think a larger footprint and rigidity are important factors to consider.

Suggestions, experiences, compliments and complaints appreciated as some of these can get pretty pricey and I prefer to only buy them once!

we've not yet had an issue as we either stay on concrete or at least some type of rock pad.... never bare dirt... but if I were worried about that I'd first get some larger permanent feet for my jacks:

We use the Orange square pads (approx 12" x 12"). We even use them on cement to prevent staining the pad.

We use the orange Lynx Leveling Blocks most all the time, on all surfaces. In wet and/or soft conditions they will sink into the muck but once they grab they do the trick. Removing them after you raise the jacks can be interesting sometimes but I haven't had to abandon any.

Very happy with these...strong and weigh very little.

What I have been using is very similar to what we build to set cranes on. I use two pieces of 3/4 inch plywood 2' x 2' and 3 4 x 4's 2' long this spread the load out nicely. I have not had any settling issues since adding the second piece of plywood.

I had Home Depot cut a pressure treated 2x12 into 1' pieces. Keep these and the chicks just inside the driver side basement door in a sterility plastic tub. Work like a champ and are cheap if you have to leave one.

Fwiw, I think they may cushion the jacks somewhat as I never had a popping noise problem even before the additive to the hydraulic oil.

I also just made some 4” high by 20” wood pads to go under these to lessen the amount of ram that is sticking out of our jacks. This is also working very good for several reasons.

Those are pretty slick. I couldn't get a price from their Website. I'm having them email me or call.

How did you stumble across this? I would have never thought about a mobile home supply having something like this.

I've been trying to figure out what to place between my steel pads and the concrete when I'm in Florida. That's the answer. Mitchell's right, the concrete pad gets stained without anything in between.

I had my lumber yard cut 12"X12"X3/4" pieces marine grade plywood. Works for me.

I go through a lot of the plastic pads - as once they get too distorted they don't stack anymore. The orange tri-lynx have lasted the longest so far. The yellow ones tend to break and smash pretty easy. Then, as others say there is also wood.

I like the looks of those pads, they would work great with my system.

I started out with 12 x 12's but I hit a place in FL where they just sank. So I double the plywood for a bigger foot print and added the 4 x 4's and I have not had a problem since. I have not noticed any popping either.

Presently I am using pads I made myself. I think I took 1' OR 3/4 " plywood ( it's been so long I don't remember which. Cut to 12x`12 squares and then cub some belting and fastened it to each side. Has worked fine for well over a year, but are getting a little out of shape because of the feet pushing the center down when ground is soft. I think I am going to make new ones out of 2x's.

Found this older thread but thought I would post. We went out this weekend and our site was great except the rear of our rig was a bit over the slope and jacks would not touch the ground so had to pull ahead were I really didn't want to be so..... We got home and I made these up this afternoon. They will be a bit heavy but don't want to run into this again. No lift on the smaller pads so made up 12 of these.
