A/C fan

Our Wyoming campground has no trees...just some sage brush.
And the weather is warm during late day hours. Unfortunately, it appears that the front A/C will only operate on low fan speed. This unit has already been replaced under warranty. I'm assuming there's nothing I would be able to check on the unit as this issue sounds a bit serious. In the event someone has had the good fortune to repair a similar issue themselves, your advice would be appreciated as I doubt it will get cooler as we move East over the next two weeks.

Thanks.

just a stab in the dark, but have you dried removing the thermostat from the control cable in the back and reinstalling it? Maybe contacts are dirty in there?

On my unit, there's not a big difference between the 2 speeds

I agree with Dave, I hardly can tell the difference between low and high.

Low high speed sound difference is marginal but I can certainly tell the difference in air movement, just like I can tell when both A/C's are running as opposed to a single unit.

Our old Dometic would toggle between hi and lo automatically when in auto. I'm a little disappointed these Colemans wont do that. Mine have never been on "lo", forgot it was there.

Mine are on LO most of the time, it has to get REALLY hot for me to switch to HI.

We're in Branson MO, daily highs in the mid 90's and we're keeping cool with both units on LO, thermostats set on 75º. The units run pretty much all the time from about 9am till 9-10pm.

Personally I can't tell any difference between low and hi on either air!

Control the air? It has one temperature FREEZING. There does not seem to be any control on the temperature of the air conditioning. Wrote that on the survey too!

John & Eileen,

There has got to be something going on with your thermostats, we don't have any trouble. The thermostats may not be accurate but they are within 2-4 degrees, if I set my LR AC @ 75 and it shuts off showing 75º, if I take a different thermometer it generally shows 76º or 77º.

John, take a look at your roof outlet vents and see where they are pointing. They are all adjustable for flow and angle. If you have a vent pointing at a thermostat or the direct air currents hit a thermostat they will do weird things.

My RL did the same thing for a while until I figured out that air from the rear AC that feeds the Living Room was pointed at the hallway and was crewing up the thermostat on the front AC.

Something is wrong. In the heat here in Gulf Shores, have it set to 78 and the indoor/outdoor thermometer shows 79, really close. We keep our black shades down and a small fan circulating.
