For those with full body paint.

I was waxing the RL to get ready for storage. When you get to the sides, you notice that the paint extends onto edges of the vinyl roofing above the gutter. Question is, what are you doing for wax or protectant on the painted vinyl? Liquid car wax, clear vinyl floor wax, auto top dressing, something special, or sameas on rest of the RV?Since it doesn't look like they spray clear over the paint on the roof material, I'm hesitant to "experiment".

What are you doing up there, if anything??

BTW, while you're up there, McGuires Utimate Black TrimRestorer brings back the faded out black AC covers to look like new again!

I waxed the side cap area with the same wax as I did the rest of the coach. I don't worry about the a/c covers.

is this strip of paint purely cosmetic? or have a function... mine is flaking off every time I wash and I don't use a pressure washer, just a hose and bucket.

strictly cosmetic. At first I was concerned they had black roofs, but much releived when I climbed on on one at the dealer and saw it was white.

I don't know for sure but would assume they are not waxed.

Not waxed as fresh paint & clear normally take a few months to "cure". Then OK to wax. I use cheap stuff in the orange bottle & what a shine for most of a year...Edited by: 5th_Time

I think it's called NU-WAX? in the orange container. I used it myself and from the get go. Works well if you are under the trees and touch up areas that have the droppings from the trees etc.

I found it. It's called Finish 2000. Easiest stuff to use. Beads for a long time. Still, that RL takes a lot of time to wax!!
