I also have the 31SL and my fifthwheel weighs in at around14,000 lbs also. I have no problems keeping the Marathon "E"tires on the rig. I don't think, however, that they would be adequate for any of the other Redwood models.

Nope, ST means "Special Trailer"
Rick, you're correct as our 36RL arrived from the Factory at 14000 Lbs before we even put in the first paper plate.

That's kind of funny - In the Montana club the consensus was the heavier Montana's needed the G614 (which they eventually went to) and they were 11,000 lbs empty. The guys with the 9,000 lb small Montanas figured they were OK with the ST tires. I don't think you can build in your own safety margin - they fail by poor construction, not weight....

But here's me starting to talk like "it takes a dually to pull any trailer" - sorry

I really don't want to get into a tire discussion but having spent my whole life in the tire industry, everything from QC in the plant to sales and management, the ST tires of today lack the construction/engineering features that the tire was originally designed for. It is so bad today that the ST tire is actually lighter weight than the comparable auto tire when 15 years ago just the opposite was true. Stay with LT or Medium duty truck tires.
