First apologies for the long post...
I can make pc's, mainframes, networks dance,
but this propane thingy gives me a headache
Something just made me feel that I needed propane,
so took the rv to my local propane, muffler, and pc shop
that I've been using for years and they removed and filled my 40 #'ers...
one was completely empty and the other had 2 lbs in it - so I guessed right.
Since it's impossible to see the changeover bulb where redwood mounted it on the side - I tried to take some pictures and posted below...
We have 2 tanks.
I closed both tanks,
pointed the "lever" to the tank next to the changeover valve (tank A),
I opened that tank ONLY to see if the sight glass changed...
Couldn't see it so took a picture - it's black ! not red or green !!!
Do I have to run the stove or something to see the green or red ?
SO --- What I THINK I know the way it should work is:
start with both tanks full...
Make sure that the lever on the changeover valve is pointed at Tank A.
The sight glass should show green...
Tank A is used until it runs out.
The sight glass turns red.
The regulator auto transfers to Tank B and starts using gas from tank B.
Now is the time to switch the lever and fill tank A.
(If the lever is left on tank A the glass stays red meaning Tank A is empty.
If you do not change the lever, Tank B
will be used until it
too is empty.)
The lever indicates the level of the tank that it is pointed to.
so when Tank B is empty (red) turn the lever to tank A and fill tank B, etc...
So I think I know it, but thinking I need to relocate the regulator so I can see it...
thanks for reading my pondering thoughts
