We have been fulltime in our 2013 RL for just over a year. Thought we were so lucky cause it didn't have the pop in the leveling system. The noise started about midway thru the summer and has become steadily worse to the point that the dog could make it pop simply by walking around. Currently in north Texas, temps in the 80's and 60's. Went to Caterpiller and got the oil supplement, did the install, cycled the jacks 3 times and the pop is GONE! It is wonderfully quiet, wish I'd done this back when it started. The wife is happy and the dog is content. On our way to South Texas in a couple weeks.

Torco RFF Grade 15

2. Maxima Fork Oil Grade 15

2.
Obtain a fluid extraction device (siphon, turkey baster, etc.)
3.
Fully retract all hydraulic cylinders and jacks.

The Caterpiller stuff cost me $27.34, would have been cheap at twice the price. You can have your dealer do it under warranty, I think.

How long has it been since you added the new fluid? Ours was quiet for a while but now it's been about 2 months since we did the fix and I notice the popping is back. To be fair, it's not nearly as frequent but still happens maybe once a day/night.

I just did it yesterday and it hasn't made any noise since. If it comes back I plan to add another quart. It was so bad before that it would pop with every step we took so were pretty happy right now.

Ours was so bad at times it would wake me up in the middle of the night. It has popped a couple of times since the change but barely noticeable.

I had my 2012 36RL into the Crossroads factory service center at Topeka, Indianaon September 9 for the annual inspection and few warranty items. One of the TSB's service that was performed was the addition of the fork oil to the hydraulic system to correct the popping noise. We have been out in our coach for 3 weeks since the work was done and I can report that the popping noise has stopped.

We were out with the Redwood this weekend and can also report that the popping is gone. I added one qt. of Cat antistiction oil. Took a few cycles of running jacks and slides but it seems to be fixed.

My '12 RL was never that bad, but I added 1 qt of CAT oil a couple weeks ago, took it out for a long weekend & just realized that I haven't heard a "pop" since. It works!Edited by: 5th_Time
