Winters are mild, but there can be some pretty cold nights, being in the dry desert, it cools quickly at night. Albuquerque is farther north and higher in elevation. Still not too bad but more snow...

We live in SE New Mexico. Dry like Arizona but not quite as hot. Carlsbad is a small community that is trying to attract the snowbird population.
