Yes some silicone lube or plumbers grease can help in that fitting. Another problem with those is that if not properly winterized they can freeze and damage can occur to those internal parts. I think...

It is a quick connect. Similar to air lines. Ours is self coiling. Blue in color, with a chrome plated garden nozzle on the other end. Maybe 10 to 15 foot long stretched out.
