I can clearly see mine without the headrest, but I'm also 6'4" and my head touches the headliner so maybe my perspective is a little different.

I have the B&W hitch and with the headrest removed I can easily see my hitch when backing up.

I'll have to have my wife block out the distance the cover takes in the bed for a more scientific...
