There has got to be something going on with your thermostats, we don't have any trouble. The thermostats may not be accurate but they are within 2-4 degrees, if I set my LR AC @ 75...

We're in Branson MO, daily highs in the mid 90's and we're keeping cool with both units on LO, thermostats set on...

Low high speed sound difference is marginal but I can certainly tell the difference in air movement, just like I can tell when both A/C's are running as opposed to a single unit.
