Also my slide awning was mounted with the rear...

Also my slide awning was mounted with the rear arm/track 1 3/4" higher than front which made it roll crooked. We leveled up the rails & added more screws to all.

Forgot to answer all your question, I only use those straps if the wind is fairly strong, as those screens do a good job of holding the awning in mild/moderate winds.

We have the Shadepro/ Vista shade on both awnings...

We have the Shadepro/ Vista shade on both awnings & really enjoy them & they work fantastic.
