My GMC also makes the same cool noise as Homeguy, kinda sounds like a Jake Brake & works fantastic with the push of a button anytime in any gear not just tow haul.

Too bad it didn't have square fenders & a bowtie in that new grill.
Back to OP, when towing I set tow/haul mode, turn on exhaust brake, & set the cruise & go.

Don't know about Ford's, but while going to Branson I was in t/h mode with exhaust brake on I had cruise control set at 60 mph & only lost/gained 3-5 mph in those hills.

Actually tow/haul uses transmission braking by automatically downshifting, the exhaust brake blocks/diverts exhaust to retard the engine, you can use it all the time while driving if so desired, but...
