Mine did the same as yours, between 1/2-1" gap on one side when closed, that's how service center tech cured it.

As stated in another post, lubricate slides then run them out about 2-3" & back in 2-3 times. That's how the service center cured mine, I was also using muscle til then, been working great for a year...
