I did noticed my wires had a small indention and...

I did noticed my wires had a small indention and very small bit of bare wire was showing on the thermostat wires behind the black cover. I trimmed the metal plate and taped the wires.

Water Heater - Electric side not working

FYI . My 2013 36RL hot water heater stopped working yesterday on the 120V side. Gas side works fine.

The issued were burned wires inside the junction box attached to the actual hot water...
