Soooo if I keep the inverter "on" while hooked up...

Soooo if I keep the inverter "on" while hooked up to shore power at home (in storage) and there is an EXTENDED power outage...... that means that the inverter could possibly deplete my battery(s)...

When I'm on shore power I manually turn the inverter OFF. When traveling, I turn the inverter ON for fridge. Am I doing something wrong ?? ......... I was told to do it this way at my PDI.
