We have the Winegard SlimLine 5 LNB for DirecTV, so the dish isn't a problem, once it's done its thing it no longer needs power.
We didn't like the waiting approx 10 to 15 minutes for the DVR...

Direct offered both feeds at one time, but a couple of years ago changed to offer only one, based on your billing address.
So we have the New York feeds.
