Then I would take your truck and Redwood in for service. There appears to something wrong. We set ours at 6.5 to 7 and have had no problems.

You need an integrated brake controller in your truck. If you don't have one, they are available for after market installations. They adjust the amount of current going to your Redwood brakes.
