Thanks for the ideas and feedback. We have some direction now. We do leave the valve closed, so will try one of the ideas.

We have a bad smell coming from the kitchen sink. I am very careful to not put food down drain at all. It is a sour smell. I have cleaned thoroughly. I have tried drain santizers, they seem to...
