My basement door hinge broke and I use a 7/16...

My basement door hinge broke and I use a 7/16 bolt grade 2 and drill a quarter inch hole in the center. Then I welded a 2" x 1" x .062 flat steel. Then I drill 2 holes two 1/4 holes 3/8" from center...
