We are expecting to pickup our new Redwood 38RE this spring. With the hydraulic leveling system, will we still need to use our tripod for support?

No you will not need a tripod for the pin with the leveling system.

We don't use a pin tripod on our 36FL and I doubt we will. It's a much more stable unit than our previous trailer was. Our Rockwood TT was very shaky when someone moved about. The only time the Redwood moves is when the wash machine goes into spin cycle and that's only for a few seconds.

With our 36RL, popping and feel of dropping up front, I installed tripod. Not only did popping stop, but its much more stable. I guess its your choice.

We went with Camping World and aluminum tripod, sorry did not save box. Its all aluminum, weights half of steel one and its about $150, same capacity as steel but about $50 more.
