I don't see too many towing with early 80s TVs, what I'm more concerned about is these new Ford F150 adds with pretty high towing levels. Saw one lastnight and thought it was advertising 13500 towing capacity and of course you can't read the small print, So I envision seeing folks dropping in a 5er hitch and hooking up to a large RV because the TV add, truck salesman, and RV salesman all said they could.

Nothing there Shane - but not sure I care anyway. To me the three all do their job - I just can't morally support a company that should have been drowned years ago.

Maybe so Brad, Dodge would've loved that to happen because that would mean more sales for them cause some of us wouldn't buy a Ford.

I don't think you understand - Dodge and GM should have had to fend for themselves- you might have been driving a Toyota

I went with my first Ford because of the handout of Tax dollars....it was wrong.

With that said I reluctantly bought my first Ford (2010) and after having 6 in the past 5 years and they all ended up being good vehicles. I also have purchased 2 Toyotas, 2 Subarus and one Volkswagen. All 11 of these vehicles would have been GM if it wasn't for the handout.

With that said however....... my son who is in the body shop business said that the New Fords are going to have a major issue with body damage. Apparently according to a government test a NEW F150 will get totaled at 35 MPH. And the frames are easily damaged and VERY hard to fix. He said in one test they took 2 trucks and put them in the same crash. The old truck suffered a broken headlight and other light damage and the NEW ford had severe damage and would have been towed. Ford might have to rethink this.

Yea.....but how many people would have lived because of not having the faulty ignition switches for the last 7 years

I have more respect for Dodge than I do GM at least they didn't kill anybody over greed.

Like I said - strictly speaking the handout aspects, I have my position on Dodge and GM, but if we talk technical issues and cover ups, I guess Toyota would go on the chopping block, VW, and I don't think Ford ever came clean on the CC switch fires either.

Dave, a few years back there was a small class C that was on a Toyota chassis with dual wheels, I believe it was rated at a 1 ton.
Fortunately we do have a choice of trucks & all of the big 3 will get the job done!

Yes, unfortunately that choice came at a big expense to the taxpayers!
