Does anyone with a pullrite slider hitcha and the new trailair pin tri glide with the air bag and shock assembly have any problems wiith excedssive chucking....We picked up our unit on the 24th of April and stayed 2 nights close to the dealer to check out the unit before coming home..Found some minor problems and left it at thje dealer to be repaired..Appears that they have fixedf all problems....Brought her home yesterday, but on one strestch of I=20 between Terrell TX and Ft. worth where the road is a little wayvy due to p---poor major highway construction we thought that the trailer was going to jerk the 5th wheel out of the bed...Glad it's welded as well as bolted in...It actually scared my wife and jerked hard enough that it popped her neck and gave her a headache (65 mph) slowed to 60 and didn'teem to make any difference...N o problems at all except in this wayvy area pulled like it wasn't even back ther...Anyone else have similar problems and or ftechnical suggestions? We are using Pull-rite 18K slider 4400 series

Had same issue on several overpasses on I-95 (both sides) inVirginia and on the Francis Scott Key Bridge on I-695heading East around Baltimore.

Yikes... when you see the rubber marks on the pavement ahead (just after an overpass starts)you might have to stop at the next rest stop!! The first time that wild bucking happened, I wanted to pull overand kiss the ground afterward, but soglad my GMC dually and RL always track straight and stay in control - even at 65mph. Also, kudos to my Reese Elite 18K!

I predict there will be a lot of SRW trade-ins after experiencing one of these!

Royce I had the same problem and what I found was the dealer had to much air pressure in the bag. So i played with it a little and now she pull like a dream.

I went with the stock pin from Redwood but went with a Hensley TS3 trailer safe hitch. I hope this eliminates that problem or at least 80% of it. I have heard of alot of folks pulling 5er's having this problem. Hope you get it figured out.

I did notice the arrows on the air bag on the trail pin hitch are supposed to be at top of arrows but mine looks like the level is about 1/2 inch above the mark which probably means there is too much air in the bag,,,I believe I will loqer the pressure and try that road out again

Did you lower the air pressure in the hitch? Did it help. Just picked up our new fl and she kinda bucks a lot. Noticed that the air is a little high. Sure hope if I let some air out it stops bucking. First time with air hitch. Scary.

I had my airbag at or slightly above the arrows, but I found it rides nicer half-way down the arrow heads. You have to adjust after you're hooked up & ready to travel. Obviously, this will not help the bucking induced by bad overpasses. Seemslikea stiffer shock mighthelp with that.

KR 2011 lowered his pressure in his unit and he's very happy with the pull now...Read his post a couple above this one.

When I checked the pressure in the air bag I found it be at 60 psi so i lowered to where the top of the arrows were just visible and it pulls great with no bucking. Obviously each trailer will be different so adjust your air bag accordingly.

I didn't change the presure in the bag. I lowered the hitch, have a husky and i lowered it by 1 bolt hole and it makes a world of difference. the coach is now level and bucking stopped and she rides a lot better. thanks all

What sort of clearance you you guys have between your bed rails and the underside of the 5er? Mine is about 6 inches.

Now I have almost 10 inches after I lowered the hitch. Now she runs almost level. Might try another hole down and see.

My hitch is all the way down in my (4x4) truckwhich sits pretty high. When I hook up & raise the jacks, the truck drops 1.75" and RL is pretty level w/9.5" of clearance to the bed rails and a total height of 13' 0" high. The air hitch seems to be on an odd angle - tilting the skidplate forward slightly toward the cab.
Only thing left is to raise the Trail-Air. Anyone tried this?

Are there instructions in the Manual on how to set these things up?

I have the level kit in the front end of our 4x4, so the truck sets level. our truck hitch is at the bottom holes and the redwood is at the factory setting. after hooking up. I set the rear air bags at 65 psi each. this setsthe truck and redwoodnice and level, we have 6 inchs between the bed and 5th wheel.

John317, never got a manual for the Trail-Air. Not sure if anyone else did.
