Pin box adjustment

I would think 8 would be plenty also Rick. Ive been out looking at replacement pin boxes and have narrowed it down to 2 choices.

1. Lippert LC328492


2. Lippert LC158778

Both are 18000# and replace the 1621 pin box. The only difference I see is the Roto flex head. Everything thing else looks the same. Price difference is $100.00 or so.

I'm wondering if the cushioned head would be better or is it just another part to move around and cause chucking or bounce?

Plus the added height would be great for rail clearance.

Think I'd go with #1, it's supposedly the latest, greatest.

Don't give up that flexible head. It helps at least as much as the air bag helps.

For the extra $100, I wouldn't hesitate to go with the FlexAir. It makes a big difference. I scrapped my Rotoflex for the FlexAir.

The inventor of the hitch was at Quartzsite last year and I had a chance to visit with him. He mentioned to me that I will notice a big difference in the fatigue factor during a full day of driving. He was sure right. The rig seems to float behind me eliminating the jarring and chucking.

I have a trail air pin box with 5 bolts per side 3 in front and 2 in rear am planning on dropping it 1 bolt hole...now will have 2in front and 3 in rear but still have a total of ten.....you see any problem with that??? 2012 31sl...

I would think it would be good. You could call Lippert and ask and be sure.

I put the Flex-Air on mine and it was night and day over the tri-Glide...

I would spend the extra $100.00 for that one..

My math was not correct...Going to add a gusset to the front on both sides so I can once again have 3 in front 2 in rear for a total of 10...gusset will consist of 2 pieces of 1" by 1/4" angle iron put on by my local machine shop...bout 50 bucks...
