Loving Life,

What kind of rear camera did you go with? Wireless, hardwire, hybrid? And where did you mount it?

We use a wireless camera, we purchased from Camping World. It is about a 5-6" screen. We mounted the camera on the outside just below the window. We have had no issues with dirt or weather. Too dark tonight to post a picture. I will post pic of camera location tomorrow.

Yes, the backup camera is a Voyager. It was really easy to install.

I just showed the posts to Steve he's going to have to read everything. We always towed our jeep behind our class A but he's surprised to see it behind a 5th wheel and at 75ft long holy cow

Well I surrendered on mine. Got the 71 CJ5 running and it is fun, but way too much work required to make it a useable Jeep - some younger guys project. I just started adding up costs to restore it, and decided for that money I could find something more roadworthy.

With a black and red paint scheme that would look great behind that redwood

Brad - I would look for a nice TJ series in the 2000-2005 range. Still looks and rides and works like a Jeep but has a few more creature comforts than the earlier ones. I had a 2000 Sahara that I'm still sorry I sold .......

I'm thinking very seriously about towing a Mini Cooper Clubman behind the RW
. The Mini weighs 2700 lbs and is about the same length as a Wrangler. Everything I've read, the 6 spd manual tows just fine.

Shane,

The only problem is paint is last on the list, and there is quite a few $thousands before the paint ever gets started. I think I surrendered when the radiator blew apart and the brake pedal was on the floor the next morning. I can count on one hand what doesn't need rebuilt.

I took Dory for a ride and she was not impressed Just a slight curve by our neighborhood at about 45mph and those old weak springs had both of us puckering a bit. Takes a while to get used to that sway and re-learning when too much is too much.

I think at my age we may be better off looking at a Wrangler like LovingLife has!

Vaughan -

That is too funny - so yesterday in my frustration I looked at a 2003 Sahara with a winch and a hardtop with a 5 sp. It had some cool things like power brakes, roll cage, power steering, defrosters, and FM radio I told Dory that is what we should look at. She drops a bomb on me and her Secret motive is she wants a COOPER! She is frustrated with me because my Jeep is occupying the only space left in the garage! The battle begins.....

Good call! Wrangler was a great compromise for us. We are both comfortable and don't feel like our teeth are chattering. Benefit... found out we both love 4-wheeling.

That's the only drawback to Wranglers in that years range - nice ones typically sell with a phone call and don't even make the listings
If you want one, be prepared to act fast and know that you probably won't be able to dicker much.

Want me to send the picture of the 2010 Clubman I found in Hot Choclate Metallic that almost matches the cream color on our coach perfectly ?
Or would that be stirring the pot ? LOL.

No, I'm talking about my CJ5! 5 guys waiting and the first one with a trailer took all. Ad went in at 9:00 last night and was sold by 10:00 this morning! That's the guy taking pictures of his catch. I never expected that and should have asked twice what I asked.

The 2003 TJ is still at the Dealer - he has it priced at about 4K over high retail, but it does have only 57K miles.

Would love to see your Countryman Vaughan! Here is the best shot of that TJ I have

Brad - here's the Mini. Like your Jeep dealer, this one is overpriced. I have an offer in on it of $12k. They haven't said no yet ...
The main color is called Hot Chocolate metallic and the roof is black. The color is almost a match for the cream color on my Brown/Tan 36 RL.
