Lillyputz you need to do your calculations again you need to ad all the weight of your added options and the added weight of your personal items then multiply that by at least 21% and maybe as high as 24% to get your pin weight. Most people who pull a 15k or higher rig tend to be over weight on there single wheel trucks as for payload weight ( pin weight).

Yea but I have a frame for a short bed. The your box won't fit will it? Also I have 20inch tires so I'll have to either change those out for 17's or I guess find another set of 20's.

Thanks Lillyputz, I hope yours is that ratio; but I think that with that slide-in-slide, and other options, its going to be higher. I hope your SRW will do okay with your Redwood. When I calculated the hitch weight dry, based on posted info before options, it came to 20.9%, which is why I asked where the info came from. I see that 18% is what they have posted on the website, however.

Enjoy your new Redwood when it comes.

By the time I add the weight for the washer/dryer and then the slid-in-slide I might be able to carry 3 gallons of diesel At least they put the 2nd air in the back

After receiving an e-mail fromarep about pin weights. I went back tothe redwood floor plan specs on there web site. all of there percentages they show are down right wrong and misleading us all. so much for up dated web site's.

It's not just Redwood, I don't think there is an RV MFR out there that publishes "Real World" weights. That's where lots of folks get into trouble, they believe those numbers until they finally get on the scales and are shocked to find out how much over weight they are.

Our 36RL is listed at 12,700 lbs on the website; however, a sticker on our closet said it actually weighed 13150lbs and that's without the washer, gen, and all our stuff. May have to upgrade our 18K hitch to a 20 or 25K for our F450.

Did your unit come with the generator and the washer or are you adding them after you received your unit...

The generic dry weight posted in brochures is based on typical options (whatever that means) avg. wt on RL is 2600,,,per Andy Wesdorp dry wt is little different on each unit because it includes the options in that particular unit as weighed at the factory before it leaves hence the weight on your closet door...so everything that came in your unit from the factory is included (includes also your hitch weight or pin weight).

No, we added the washer/dryer combo unit and 5500 Marquis Cummims Gold Gen after delivery.Need to get weighted with all our stuff in it.

Another thing we found was that the factory inflated the tires to 60lbs - upped that to the max tire load rating of 80lbs because of the weight.

Are you saying that your unit was delivered to you with only 60lbs in the tires . If that's what the factory routinely does then it's no wonder we hear of so many tire problems.

Dave your Ginny must be some kinda Woman offering to let you get new truck or you are loaded $...Don't take that bath at the dealer....Try selling your truck yourself...people are always looking for a great deal on a Diesel...When you find a reasonable offer have a replacement in mind then make your deal.
Maybe before this happens you will find out you do have enough truck already.

Did you get a better deal on w/d and onan by adding after you received unit or just change your mind too late? Did you get G rated tires (110 psi)

even if the factory does ship the trailers with 60#s of air the deal should have caught that and corrected the pressure also a diligent owner should catch the pressure problem right away as well if he is doing the routine checks.

Dave and Ginny

I'm not sure but I have heard the only difference between SRW and Dually is the addition of fender flares and adding the 2 extra eheels ...As you know the wheels are opposing and the lugs should be more than long enough to accomodate the extra wheel...I'd check with ford or a
truck performance place to see if this is aalso a viable option.!
