Well all loaded with our usual stuff except food and clothes. All fuels full. Pin weight is 3,460 lbs. Thats puts us with 180 lbs of the axle max, and 400 lbs of the tire max. Yikes .

All these big bad beautiful 8K axles and I only have 12,020 lbs on them.Just the design of the beast I guess.

We are going to really have to watch how we load for camping. Dually in the future I guess.

I was curious and looked after I hooked up and my last overload spring on my F450 wasn't even touching yet had a 2 inch gap. I guess that's why my rides so smooth.

Brad, yep these babies are pin heavy. We're loaded with everything for long term travel and we're running about 4K of pin, so we're actually pushing the limits of our Dually.

We weighed the rig leaving Bandon yesterday, fully loaded with fuel, groceries and tanks almost empty.

Pin weight 2,950 lbs & axle weight 12,450lbs for a total of 15,400lbs - well within our GVW with the "G" rated tires.

The truck rear axle was 6,600lbs, which is 130 lbs to spare, but the truck GVW was 11,550 lbs. This makes us 50lbs over, so the diet starts today.

Yes, the next truck will be a dually.

When you say you are within 130 lbs on the rear axle, what did you mean? Isn't your rear axle rated for 7K?

Thanks guys - I think it was a good find for a used truck for not a lot of money. Dually wasn't in the original plan

X2, Think you'll like the Dually once you get used to it. No problem when pulling the RW, just have to remember those big hips when solo

I carried 3500lbs of TCat about 400lbs short of the tire weights for nine years without problems. That said, that extra 10-12k behind is probably asking too much. That was on my previous 2500 srw truck.

I hear you Mark - I know a limit is a limit and we don't necessarily have to build in our own safety factors, but my concern was I hadn't even loaded food and clothes yet, or my daughter

As it turned out after reweighing when fully loaded, it only added 20 lbs to the pin. Most of the groceries are over the axles and offset the pin weight a little. I now have 7,400 on the rear axle, but only 20 lbs of additional pin weight. The remaining additional weight came from the dually itself.

OK - we headed to a campground with only electric, so I filled the freshwater tank and for fun stopped at the CAT scales:

Holy buckets! 4,320 lbs pin weight. 26,300 lbs gross (with truck), and 8,000 lbs on the rear axle.

This includes a W/D and Onan generator, full freshwater, a 64qt cooler in the basement full of XXXX - (I mean soda), and 2 5gal water tanks in the bed of the truck.

That actually is near overloading my dually cargo weight. It would have broke the back of my SRW.

Holy buckets is right. You're over 1K heavier than me (before I added the genny) but that's still significantly more. I thought the coach's axles would take most of the water weight. And the FL model is supposed to have the heavier pin.
