Heavy Hauler

I finally have the proper tow rig for towing my RW. I will fly to Az. after Thanksgiving to pick it up and have the Mountain Master air ride hitch installed @ mountain master in Phoenix before driving back to Wa. 35696-15b878d1-th.jpg

Congratulations. Nice looking truck. You shouldn't have a problem hauling your Redwood around now.

That looks like pure class. What engine and transmission does it have?

Ed - seriously consider the Comfort Ride Hitch. Same man that designed the Hensley Trailer Saver Air ride hitch designed it as the second generation. They make a 30k version designed specifically for Heavy Haulers. Agree that I'm a bit biased since I have a 24k model and love it, but you might want to check them out.

Comfort Ride Hitch. If you talk to them, tell Rick I sent you. Great guy. I think Mountain Master also uses this hitch if you want it. Most of the HH people do. It's the one NuWa and Continental recommend.

Send me a note if you need more

Is it set at 300 HP? I believe those diesels can be set up to 350hp or down to 170.

no it has not has been turned up this is the way it came from factory. I had done some research before buying it. I think the web said the DT530 model has the greater hp.

Does anyone know if I need to install the air ride 5er hitch in my new truck if I already have the air ride chasse and pin box?

Ed, I think if it was me I would use a B&W Hitch. Typically, air pinboxes and air hitches don't play well with each other.
The B&W would give you the solid 1" jaws and a good hitch.

I would go with the hitch like what Vaughan has.

There have been reports of bad bounce issues if you have 2 air-ride systems working against each other. I believe in most of the cases people had too much bounce caused by not running enough air in both setups. I had a air ride on my F350 and I had the tri-glide pin box that some people didn't think would work, but it did beautifully. I was careful to keep the truck air ride inflated to a higher level.
