Can one of you fine gentlemen or ladies explain to me what the real difference is between the long or the medium Flex air pin box is? Not sure which I should buy. Which one gives more bed clearance?
As far as I know the difference is the length between the box (where it bolts to the trailer) and the king pin. Now how that effects you...... Not sure. I would guess that the pin length is set to regards to weather or not you have a short bed truck. I wound imagine you need a long.... And a slide hitch to clear the Cab while turning. This is only a guess

I added I believe, the long one. It seems to be the same length as the Tri-glide used by Redwood. I have an 8' bed and with the original pin box, I couldn't open my tailgate all the way. Now it drops down all the way with about 4" to spare. That was a nice surprise. On my 36RE, I don't think any thing shorter would have cleared the front cap.
