Hello,

When towing a fifth wheel does anyone use cruise control? Yup, I am a newbie.
Also, noticed the Redwood tows way to well with my F-250 and likes to pick up to much speed on a flat surface. Actually, it is the happy spot my foot rests in while driving.

Thanks All,
Ben

On major highways, use it all the time. The newer GMs have a feature they call "Cruise Braking". On a down grade with the cruise set, it will let you go 2 or 3 MPH above the cruise setting, if you're still gaining speed it will downshift and use the exhaust brake to slow you back down to your setting. Used it heading South several times through the Hills of PA, West Virginia, and Virginia and never had a time I needed to use the TV brakes.

On the open road. I use the cruise control most of the time.

First of all a BIG CALIFORNIA WELCOME from the Left Coast to a Right Coaster. Personally I use my Cruise Control whenever it is safe to do so. I don't like having to keep my eye on the speedo. Those happy places for your foot can get you into trouble.

I would love to use the cruise control, but I can't seem to get may knucklesungripped from the steering wheel long enough to press the button - especially driving on I-95 NY/NJ... Ha

When on level highways, I use cruise control and tow mode all the time. On rolling or slightly hilly areas, I have used cruise, tow modeand set the transmission manually to 5th gear to keep the cruise control from shifting up and down too much.

I use it on the highway as long as the terrain will allow. I'm not going to use it the next time we move to see if it makes a difference in my mpg.. every little gain in mileage helps.

Use of cruise control depends on how I feel at the time. I have not noticed that much difference in MPG, but I have only pulled the new unit from San Antonio to Waco.

Thank you all!!

This may even save me a ticket or to.

Now people have brought up mileage. I will start another post to discuss this very interesting topic.

Thank you,
Ben
