Getting back to the topic of this thread, My recent issue of Diesel Power magazine, Feb 2015 issue has an interesting article regarding the new SAE J2807 standard for truck testing and performance. Will greatly eliminate the misleading claims with the big 3 manufacturers. They only had room for some of the 27 pages of standards and testing requirements. Also found info on www.sae.org Link to an SAE article on new J2807 standard is here http://articles.sae.org/13365/
Now everyone can read this and be even more confused as to what their truck can and can't claim to do in the near future.

It is a very complicated engine!
Dean...I'm sorry to say, but the Atlanta internet guy is a bit of a knucklehead. Unfortunately, at 7-8K, you're really taking advantage of someone who is desperately trying to find a fix for their 6.0L. That engine has indeed made some money for folks.

That 6.0 is like a lame horse, not but 1 fix for, right between the eyes.

Just like all internet threads, it's not as bad as it's made out to be or as good, it's somewhere in between
I had two of them that were fine and one of them was tuned pretty well up !!!

I had buddies that had no issues and some that had real issues...

but buying a used ANYTHING is a crap shoot, the original owners got rid of it for a reason !!! and usually not because they loved it

But sometimes the crap shoot on a used one pays off. The best truck I ever owned was a used 1999 Ford F-150 which only had 1400 miles on it. The dealer had said that the guy decided he really needed a V8 so he traded it in. 200,000 miles later that truck had never spent a day at any shop and all I ever did outside of routine maintenance was to put an alternator on her.

Thanks Dean! I sent that to my daughter, then I got a little distracted with the Redneck Yacht Club videos that popped up after this one

I have raced up a mountain a time or 2 but strapping 2 trucks together is never a good idea......but it's always fun to watch

John that is not a fair comparison between a 3500 Ram with Cummins and a Ford F-150 Raptor! That is not enough to bring me back!
