Question Wintering in Arizona ?

Thinking about spending our first winter as full timers in Az.
Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with Lazy Days down in Tucson?

After visiting some RV facilities based on the website information and pictures, we find that some of the information is a bit on the "stretched" side of the facts.
When we talked with people who actually stayed at the facility, we found the details didn't match the promises.

If anyone can give us straightforward information or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. We have not had the opportunity of spending enough time in Arizona to explore or visit the campgrounds so we could make an educated decision.

Thanks ahead of time.

Safe travels (can't wait to post pics of our new home)

We are staying at Mission View RV park, its a bit older, the people here are nice but no cable, internet is sketchy and close to the military base (jets take off at 8 am) the price is $575 plus electricity. I have driven by Lazy Days it didn't look bad from the road, not very far from the main highway not sure about the noise. I heard Rincon Country West is nice but haven't had the opportunity to have a look.
Not sure if any of this helps, everybodys taste is different

From what I have been told, Lazydays campground is the old Boudrey's campground but has recently become a KOA campground. I have not heard anything bad about it but I do have experience with Voyager Resort which is basically in the same location. It's been several years but My wife and I briefly owned a park model in Voyager and before that we have actually camped there. It is a beautiful place, you might want to check tham out also. Good luck, I loved Tucson but the wife doesn't like the "brown"! She loves greener landscape!

We are going to Mesa Spirit next week, but also want to check out the Western Horizon facility at Casa Grande, as it is reported to be an excellent resort. We are currently at their park in Indio, which is excellent and a number of people have mentioned Casa Grande is even better than this one.

We are at the Casa Grande RV Resort, as referenced by Oriana. Nice facility, with the owners allegedly spending $1 million on upgrading the premises. Nice sites, clubhouse, pool, etc.

Rick - if you are still at Casa Grande when we stop to check it out we will come by to say Hi.

We stay at Lazy Days (which is now a KOA apparently run by KOA corporate) for a week on the way west and on our return east. It has no park models, just RVers, there are no organized activities other than some rallies. It's not in the best part of Tucson but it has good security. There is shopping close by. We haven't been there since KOA bought it but it had a restaurant on-site.

We stayed at the koa, expensive.....only because we bought a new Redwood!! The campground is nice.

We have been in the Lazydaze transition lot since Saturday. The dealership has been wonderful and very accommodating.

Ken, know the feeling. We spent 4 or 5 days in the Lazy Days lot in Florida. With the Monty pulled in and the RW backed in next to it. Took us nearly 3 days just to get everything moved over to the RW, but is a lot easier with the doors opposite each other.

We have found that info from people that have stayed at a place is better and more reliable than promotional info from the park.

That's for sure. With the right camera angle and lighting you can make a junk yard look beautiful. Or that Kiddy Pool look like an Olympic size pool.

Isn't that the truth !

Ever been to Southfork ranch where the Dallas tv show was filmed ?!?

It's TINY - LOTS of wide able lenses used during the filiming

yes the run up to the front looks like that - just MUCH smaller !
and don't get me started about the swimming pool - haha
