Use your dishwasher when saving water

I have seen comments that to save water people hand wash their dishes. This may be true if you only have a couple of pieces to wash however, the Fisher Paykel DishDrawer only uses two gallons of water per cycle. That is not very much water! If you are washing dishes for 4 place settings or more you would be better served to use the dishwasher. Just f.y.i in my opinion

That dishwasher is great, we use it even when hooked to electric only. It contributes very little to the tank.

I agree. I have this dishwasher in my home (the two drawer version) and I ADORE it. I use the "Pots and Pans" setting most of the time. It simply heats the water to EXTREMELY hot and gets those dishes like NEW and kills any buggies that might like to hang on. If you have delicate items that can melt, then use the lesser settings. I figure, unless it will get damaged, you cannot get dishes TOO clean. :-)
