I also think a contributor (in our case) is that this is the first 5er with 110 psi and a STIFF suspension....

on our last trip out I found the sinks covers OFF the sink and one splayed out on the stove and one just at the end of the island about to fall to the floor - yes, they were in place before the start

on the way back I lowered the psi to 95 based on the much lower weights discovered when I weighed it and the tire charts

As I understand - or would think - the suspension rating is directly related to load, so my 17,222 lbs should ride on my 17,500 lb suspension and tires with the same expectations as my previous 14,600 lb rig rode on it's 15,500 lb suspension and tires.

No being over tired or over springed might be different -(i.e. my 8K axle springs may be stiffer than they actually ever need to be), but yours should be fine John. Are your roads bad?

There is a lot to be said about suspensions. We don't have anything moving around in our RW and we've been on some of the same crappy roads (is there anything else) that everyone else has. We're running on H rated tires at 125 PSI, BUT we are also riding on Independent Rubber Spring Suspension aka Mor/Ryde IS.
A bit pricey upgrade, but makes for a world of difference.

Well, it was a first time on this South Louisiana road (and probably the last) in the 38GK...

From I-10 south through Lafayette through Morgan City to Mardi Gras... stay away from Hwy 90 south of Lafayette , but Mardi Gras was still fun !

we thought we'd take the 'scenic' route and it was VERY bad - one particular bridge didn't have expansion joints, it had expansion JUMPS !

I agree with the idea of balancing the wheels. That was my first request for the dealer before we took delivery of our RW. I had all 5 wheels balanced at a cost of $25.00 per wheel. The dealer had to take the coach down the street to a tire dealer to have the work done.

It is my understanding that no trailer manufacturer supplies their coach with the wheels balanced. Many people would not want the expense because they don't travel much. Rather they setup at a campground and the trailer stays there for long term.

It almost seems like that wheel balancing should be another option on the order sheet.

Same with I-5 South of Sacramento most of the way down to the Bakersfield exit. Came back up CA 99 - much better highway.

Been my experience, just avoid Lousiana if you are looking for good highways.

25 dollars a wheel? Wow they got you there, I took mine down to the local tire shop cost 30 for all 4.

Note they should be balanced lug-centric (attached to balancer via lugs rather than by cone in hub). Some shops cant do that. I think I'll take mine to Direct Tire while I check out the bearings.

There is now doubt that it cost me more than desired. But, I did not think it too bad since the dealer had to transport the trailer to the tire shop, the shop had to dismount, balance and remount the the five wheels and the dealer had to return the the trailer to his location. If I could have been able to dismount the wheels myself and take them in to a tire dealer and have them balance the wheels while I waited, $5. to $6. per wheel would have been realistic.

Ironically I have to take the wheels off and hand carry to the Direct Tire shop because I can't get the rig in there, and I would gladly pay the $25 a tire to have someone do it for me

Cost me $90 to remove the Marathons, and balance/install the G614's. For that I can take the rig back to any of their dealers anytime to have the pressure checked and torque checked. The young kids pulled the new tires out of the truck and put the Marathons back in the truck, saving my back.

I was more than happy.
