Have heard rumors that we had one, but my cursory look didn't show it...

until I was bent down under the coach this weekend !!!

Was looking for where my shower leak was coming out and found the outflow of the leak....

but also found that sewer hose holder I've heard about....

ya think maybe they could try a bit more to place it in a harder to get to place !?!

(and hope that's brown sealant around the sewer hoses and not anything else )

Yeah, I didn't know anything about the storage tube until I happened to see it one day while looking for my fresh water overflow tube. Too bad about shower leak. Any luck figuring out what the issue is?

It looks ;like your sewer connection is well under like mine is. When Redwood discontinued the sewer boom they left the hook up about 12 inches under the fifth wheel. Very difficult for a baby boomer with bad knees to hook up! I bought the parts to extend the hookup but just haven't had the incentive to do it. Good luck on the shower leak fix. That looks like quite a leak!!

Ah, it doesn't matter John, cause those Rinoflex coupling won't fit in there anyways. Make a nice rod holder!

So where have you been storing your hose?

ya - sucks on the shower leak. Any idea from where?

Betcha anything that your shower leak is just like mine was... The elbow pipe that comes off the shower drain was a 6" piece when in fact it should have been a 10" piece... Remove the basement wall and run the water and you'll quickly identify the problem.

What was the reason RW discontinued the boom?

I did what it looks like Johnboy did, I installed the clear plastic extension piece and I left it there, it brings the connector out to the point that it's easier to connect the hose and it also shows me what's coming out, in case I need to do a second flush. I put an 8 ft. hose holder under the trailer hitch frame, I can carry two long hoses that way.

Having come from a 5er that I LOVED the sewer boom, I had to find something quick to store the hose...
got an orange tub with a snap on lid that seals and keep it in the basement...

Hate that it takes up so much space, but I'm not letting THAT stuff loose in the basement

re that leak ?
I assumed it was shower, because it also runs out under the shower pan into the hallway.... no fix yet and has been back to the dealer 3 times for it...

avoiding thinking about what it's doing to the substructure !

They discontinued the sewer boom because it became a "complaint celeb" for a while back in '13 as many of us remember. Redwood gave the vocal critics what they demanded.

Newer owners have been whining ever since. Those of us that have them now are counting our blessings.

Here is an example of some of the earlier boom issues:

o Flimsy - first day on the road ours fell apart and dropped our sewer hose onto the pavement while going down the road
o Our sewer boom latch popped of going down the highway. The boom and sewer hose were destroyed from rubbing on our RV tire. Redwood sent me an entirely new sewer boom assembly
o The boom was short and held only about 10ft of hose

Rob, maybe it's not beating a dead horse if we weren't part of the previous discussions

thanks sinder,
those don't sound like problems with the sewer boom,
but more with Redwoods implementation of it...

I NEVER had a problem with the other ones I had and never heard of any issues on the net from others

Guess we didn't need that much hose either - 10' always stored and always connected was so convenient for us - that when I saw the Redwood we ordered didn't have one, I took it off my previous one !

But, everyone has their own 'druthers' !

Thanks for the informative response.

I love our boom. In fact, we were looking at another manufacturer's product at the Hershey Show and asked if they could include it in their build.

Is there a good aftermarket type that can be added?

Libert just came out with a new system that looks even better. I do like our boom but this new one looks better. I hope Redwood starts using them

Any links or info on the new Lippert system yet?

Is this the new Waste Master System they recently bought?

The Rhino flex hoses will fit just fine in the sewer hose holder if you cut two of the four tabs off. It does not hinder the use of the hose and is still easy to connect and disconnect. I have the one at the end of the drop frame like the picture, I also mounted the long one behind the receiver hitch I can hold 1 long hose and 3 shorter ones haven't had any issues yet.

The rhino hose works great and fits my tube under the coach. However with the tabs removed I have to use two small strap wrenches to disconnect from my right angle sewer connect.
