Florida for the Winter

We are looking for places to stay this coming winter in Florida, so far I am finding it cost double what it cost to stay in Arizona. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

Anywhere from Central Florida (Tampa / Orlando) South is expensive and most CGs are sold out every winter.

slideone,

C/G's along the coast south of Tampa/Cocoa are very expensive and very much full. The east coast is a little less expensive but still packed. The C/G's in the interior are less expensive but they too are crowded but you may have a better chance of finding a spot.

The Keys are insanely expensive in the winter.

C/G's in north florida are less expensive but you chance cold/wet weather, that's why the south fFlorida parks are so popular.

State parks are full too and you can only stay for two weeks.

While it could be farther south, check out Rock Crusher Canyon park in Crystal River. We spend 3 months there. Next winter will be our 3rd. Sites tend to be bigger and it has a lot of trees and vegetation separating most sites. One nice thing is no metered electric. A well run park and a lot of activities. If interested don't wait to inquire.
