Driveway camping on West Island MA

Well, we made it to our destination for the next few days. A friends house on West Island MA.. Right off the coast from Fairhaven ...Got water , and a dedicated 110 outlet that is on its own 20 amp circuit.. We have been holding at right around 116 on the meter.... When we first plugged it in, it went down to 105, then quickly raised to 116-120... With the tv on , several lights , and the AC holding us at 74 degrees inside.

Do they have any more room?

For your sake, I hope it doesn't get too hot and muggy up there.

Joe - we pulled into Mystic KOA today about 4:30 - only site available is 30@ and no sewer. Will be here till Sunday morning. Ran into a bunch of traffic and got behind so decide to stay and see Mystic Seaport.

Vaughn,
You will love the seaport village!!! We have watched a few boat rebuilds there over the years. We still have not pulled into the Mystic KOA since always full so your lucky you got in and looking forward to your review on the place. Just as you go over the draw bridge there is a fantastic ice cream shop. I forget the name but on the corner of the drawbridge and the Seaport road there is also a great little seafood restaurant. Some of the best raw oysters!!!!

Joe,
Your rig sure looks purty sitting there!!! Way to shinny!!!! All your traveling and your not going to the rally.... Shame on you

Parts of 95 were stopped due to huge puddles on it...we got into it on rt 9.... We got out of it in Providence.... So , that shine is after that crap ride.. And we wont mke the rally, since its not my decision

Some of the back roads we've been on the last couple weeks made me really glad I changed suspension

Vaughan , I have not traveled these roads on a Sunday so I am not exactly sure.. The fastest way, without traffic is by far 95 to the GW Bridge, which is the way I am leaning towards on Monday. I plan to be out of here between 7-8 , which should get me there after dumping by noon'ish??

The way I came was out of the way , try 9 was a good road ,either 6 - or 66 was a joke.. .. 691 was not bad... 84 between Waterbury and 691 was all construction... I think I'll take my chances with the GW

What Joe said... Your already next to 95 at the KOA so I would take a chance on 95 to get out of here and GW. Don't even think about 6 or 66. 84 will be a mess for another year but then should be a good Rt. again. What the heck were you doing on 6 Joe?? You get lost?

Steve

I thought I was being proactive and with the times... Instead of taking the way I know ( 8 south to 95) I listened to my kids and let the Waze directions take us... Thank God for the discs . . . Those lights and drivers are *#^#%&# .. I will be nice , since I think I may not have been far from you.

Hi Joe. 95 wasn't too bad, did decide not to do the GW and went around on 287. Actually traffic wasn't bad until Del Memorial Bridge and then 95 all the way home.

When you pull into Mystic, I think you'll have to take a short trip around the park to get back and lined up for the dump station. I looked at it today and if you can make the turn from the entrance gate and over to the dump site, your rig has a joint in the middle mine doesn't. Lol

Safe travels

Glad your trip out of CT went well!!
Did you run 287 all the way back to 95 or get onto the Garden State?

Steve

Vaughan - -

I decided on 95 straight on down.... Left West Island MA at 7am... Hit Mystic KOA at 8:30.. Dumped and was out of there by 9am... Made great time all the way down till about 4 miles from the GW . . Sat for 3 hours at the approach of the GW Bridge... Broken down truck AND accident on the other level...

I kept saying, " we will hit the bridge right around 11-11:30.. It will be fine.... WRONG... Got home at 4pm.. NOT 1 PM like we should have
