Water in the Underbelly

Ok, I need some ideas. Was at the storage today and checked the coach. Was looking under the rear figuring out what hardware I need to mount the tubes for the sewer and low and behold the plastic is bowing down.....

Pushed on it and there is water in it. The area is about 2 feet in front of the trailer hitch. Looked all over inside the coach and no water or even sign of water (that's the good part). I can't figure out where it's coming from or even where to start looking.

Any ideas from my learned compatriots ?

I've had two water leaks over the past couple of years. The first one was the shower trap. I had to pull down the wall in the basement to get at it. I replaced the trap with a new one. The second one was a cracked PVC pipe for the gray water drain on the driver side of the coach. I used JB Weld on the cracked drain pipe because it would have been hard to replace the section of cracked pipe and associated joints. This pipe was that hard plastic material and the joints were glued together. You might also want to check your fresh water connections behind the docking station to see if something is loose.

I hate to say it , but I think if it were me I would drop a part of the coroplast and take a look see.... The bad thing Is that there is no water line there, which means it could be running from anywhere and puddling. Is it in the center of the coach?

BTW I believe my cracked grey water drain pipe may have been caused by me forgetting to shut off the gray valves, while the 3rd added valve was closed during a cold freezing night. Water may have been trapped in the exposed pipe upstream from my 3rd shutoff valve.

Hopefully that is just coming down off the roof at the rear cap and nothing got drenched! (I hope). That roofing is wrapped around the edge, as I discovered when I took the running lights out, so if it gets past that, it should just drop to the bottom.

I would start with tall drink of an adult beverage........then I pull down the belly and seeing what the water looked like. If it is pink then you have a fresh water leak from winterizing. I would look very close at all of the plumbing around the kitchen including that dreaded ice maker line.

Don't forget to climb on top and look at the seam around the rear cap. If water got into that seam then it could run down inside the cap and into the belly. With some of the problems that other have reported with the roof, this wouldn't surprise me and probably the easiest to fix.

Here are a few picture for a reference. One is the back side of a rear cap and the other is the rear of the redwood without a cap. You can see from those that the water could come from above.

Check the tail/backup lights. Have they been removed to replace the bulbs? All the water on my unit hits the glass and runs to the corners of the indentation that the glass is mounted to and down the tail/backup lights.

Were the slides in, or out? I just found that my slide topper doesn't fully retract so it gets pinched between the body and the slide frame. This may contribute to a leak also.

Vaughn, to change the subject, you may want to rethink mounting tubes back there, I had mine there & kept dragging them going through dips in & out of lots. I moved them to just behind the frame drop mid way of coach.

Good point Danny. Think I will do as you did and put them in next to tank drain.

Dave - I'm about 95%convinced that it must be coming from the seam on roof . Looking at your pictures, if water came in there it looks like it would follow cap down and wind up in belly. Water that is in belly is water, no pink stuff. Think I will look at seams when it gets warmer and do both front and back with Eternabond and sealer and be done with it.

On mine originally the underbelly was not attached parallel to the bumper, if you're isn't snow could have blown in, I taped mine up with Gorilla tape.
