read up on attwood WH that have aluminum tank no anode required it will mess them up and is not recomended by manufacturer at all.

seems odd they sell a part labeled for that tank in rv store but the anode if installed will weld to inside of tank and cause a big problem.

Have not tried it but they advertise all the time "CLR" can be used to eat calcium. pump it in and let it sit for an hour or 3.

I had the Attwood WH in last rv never use the rod just flushed it out every 6 months and had no problems it lasted me 14 years.

First year with our Redwood we went to Canadian East Coast... water ate the anode in 3 months.... was the size of a welding rod by the end of the season.
Changed it out and have had very minor damage the last 2 seasons. Use pipe dope on the threads of the anode to make taking it out to winterize easier.
